Funds Raised for Beattie Statue Campaign at ITFC Women's Match
Tuesday, 29th Jan 2019 09:10

Sunday’s Ipswich Town Women’s match against Cambridge United WFC at Felixstowe & Walton’s Goldstar Ground raised £142 for the The Beat Goes On, the campaign for a statue of Blues legend Kevin Beattie.

Entry to the FA Women’s National League game, which ended 2-2, was by making a donation to the statue fund.

Led by the EADT and Ipswich Star in conjunction with BBC Radio Suffolk and TWTD, The Beat Goes On was launched last month and has already raised nearly £19,000. The target is £110,000 for the statue, which will become the third at Portman Road, and additional associated costs.

Donations can be made online via the Go Fund Me page or send a cheque made payable to ‘The Beat Goes On’ to Kevin Beattie Statue Appeal, EADT, Portman House, 120 Princes Street, Ipswich, IP11RS.

There are also collection buckets at reception at the EADT’s offices and at BBC Radio Suffolk.
